Scandi style
Posted on January 20 2020
Images of pared back interiors, heart-warming food and effortlessly relaxed style spring to mind when I think of Scandinavian living - oh and 480 days of paid parental leave! Apart from the obvious, what is it that’s made us all Scandi mad? The idea of looking good AND living well brings a sense of freedom and control in our lives. So instead of just admiring the Scandinavians, why not adopt some of their style hacks?
But how do I go about Scandi style you may ask? It’s all about clean lines, versatility and attention to detail. You will want to update your wardrobe with key transitional pieces to give you that changeability. It’s all rather simple really, which is what makes Scandi style so easy to adopt.
First of all, use different textures to layer up. Autumn is a good time to start working on how you are going to be layering throughout winter. If you are a monochrome fan, you can go tone on tone and add a feminine fabric like lace. A jacket or coat and a scarf will add definition to your outfit. Jewellery should be kept minimalistic, otherwise wear one bold piece. Denim can be styled with a top, blouse or shirt for a casual or smart casual look. Add a bit of fun to your outfit with a sparkly top.
We launch with the BASICS collections from two Danish brands that may not be known to many: KAFFE and COSTER COPENHAGAN. Over the next few weeks you will get to know about more about these brands as they will be featured in our MEET THE BRAND blogs.
